How Death Grip Got Rollin'

Death Grip Motorsports started like a lot of great things do—with a passion and a garage.

Steven Shelly, owner of Death Grip, has always been into motorsports. Whether it was cars, trucks, dirt bikes, or snowmobiles—basically anything with a throttle—he’s always loved building, tweaking, and pushing machines to the next level. That same passion naturally carried over when he got into golf carts and launched SS Custom Carts. He didn’t just see them as campground cruisers—he saw the potential to turn a simple ride into a full-on experience. And once people started seeing his builds, the questions came rolling in: “Where’d you get that? Can you help me with mine?”

Around the same time, Steven came across Krown Rust Protection and started using it on his own vehicles. Word spread quickly. Before long, his weekends were packed with Krown treatments and cart upgrades for friends and neighbors. It wasn’t about launching a business—it was just helping out. But it grew. Fast.

And here’s the real story: Death Grip didn’t become what it is today because of one guy in a garage. It became what it is because of the incredible team that stepped in and brought it to life. A crew with real skills, pride in their work, and a shared drive to do things the right way—every time.

Since officially launching in 2019, Death Grip Motorsports has grown into a full-service shop known for golf carts, rust protection, and top-notch customer care. We’ve still got that “buddy down the street” feel—but now with a whole team behind it. We’re proud of how far we’ve come, and even more excited about where we’re headed.
